  1. I’ve sewed on a Viking since I was a little girl and I’m now 60+ years old. The Viking I purchased in 1987 has finally quit working and cannot be repaired. I need to purchase another. I do small quilting projects, make clothing, mend jeans, etc. I don’t need anything over the top but would like a recommendation. It’s difficult to shop right now! Thanks

  2. I had my Interlude 435 in for service. It would often not sew in reverse and occasionally it would start to sew but the needle would just go up and down and not move fabric. The technician tried to tell me there was a othing wrong with the machine. The problem is intermittent. They finally said the feed dogs were worn down and the parts are unavailable. They adjusted them up. I really do think the problem is with the reverse mechanism. It just does not work most of the time now on rare occasion the machine will reverse. Any suggestions?

  3. i used to own one which I purchased in 1978. The Husqvarna 2000 SL. Loved it but unfortunately I couldn’t find anyone to service it. Now I’m looking for a machine that sews, embroiders and quilts. Would appreiciate any suggestions, mid price range. Thanks

  4. Received my Viking sewing machine for my college graduation in 1957. Just had it serviced because the ziig zag wouldn’t zig or zag. Works like a charm again. Just imagine still loving a 63-year-old machine. This was the first major problem I have had and the technician said it wasn’t much of a problem. FYI it cost $600 in 1957. It has all kinds of fancy patterns but not the embroidery or quilting features now available. A big price tag then. I wonder how many hundreds of dollars I have saved over the years? Obviously, I am a life-long devotee of Viking machines.

  5. Carol A Brzezinski

I traded in a Singer embroidery machine which kept stopping in the middle of a design. I loved all the 3200 patterns to choose from.
I changed my computer drive which caused an update from the Singer company. It became a real problem with upgrading my sewing machine.
I took my Singer to Lapeer MI upon a recommendation by Singer thinking they could fix my Singer. They just took it in toward a trade in.
I paid over 3,000. all a Viking Topaz. I really don’t like my new machine. With the onset of Covid 19, I never
    Could complete the lessons.

  6. Hello Carol, Viking are expensive machine and quite good. However the learning process is lenghty. Zou will evnetuallz get used to the transition from singer to Viking.
